Old Posts Re-posting is no longer supported.

We introduced the “Old Posts Re-posting” functionality with version 3.0. It was one of the most requested features and it was one of the most hardest features to implement.

What we did works, but it turned out to be very hard to understand and configure correctly. You need to setup the re-poster itself, then you need to include/exclude posts to/from re-posting based on several different criteria. It’s complicated and hard to get. It should be much more clear and easy to use.

It’s time to admit that we did it wrong.

So we officially announce that we will completely re-do the “Old Posts Re-posting” feature in the version 3.5 release. Until then, starting from March 25, 2014, we are no longer offering support for the current implementation. There is no point in fixing it, it must be completely re-done.

If you still want to try to use it please see the instructions and troubleshooting

We are sorry, but we are longer accepting or replying to support tickets/inquires about “Old Posts Re-posting”. This functionality is now provided “as is” without any guarantees.

The good news is that we actually got a lot of feedback and a lot of experience from this. We know what we did wrong, and what to do to improve it. We promise that we will do it right this time.

PS: Just to clarify. “Old Posts Re-posting” functionality is not buggy, it’s not broken, there is nothing wrong with it as it’s done. You can configure it and it will work. It’s just very confusing and hard to understand and configure. Also it is not as flexible as it should be and many desired configurations are either extremely hard to achieve or even impossible. It should not be like this.

Update (Dec 2014): Upcoming Version 4 Features: Auto-Reposting

Update 2 (March 2015) (FAQ)

Question:I got “Pro” version and it says that this is not supported. I urgently need this functionality!!!

Answer We are not sure what exactly are you asking here. First of all “Re-posting” is not a part of “Pro” upgrade, it’s available in the free version. Re-posting functionality in V3 is working, we just don’t support it because it was not implemented to satisfy everyone and we are completely redoing it. We are working on new re-posing functionality for the last 10 months. It will take another 2-4 months to finish it. What exactly can we “urgently” provide you with?

I'm using it since I installed the script
I notice that after I changed "Repost existing posts every ** ** **) to more than 3 hours I started getting 2 posts together
but I still like it :)
can't wait for the new Re-Posting!

I'm getting double posts on Facebook. I don't think it's that I configured anything wrong - I even totally uninstalled the plugin yesterday and started from scratch, but it still double posts. I hope the developers are aware of this - whether it's a bug that needs fixing/replacing or a user configuration issue (and I read the documentation and can't fathom what wrong setting could be causing this, but whatever), it needs to not be happening in 3.5.

I've been right on the verge of paying for the pro version of this, but I'm definitely waiting to see how this gets fixed first.

Aha, I just found the fix for this one: Note the ID of the last post that went to Facebook. Go into SNAP, your FB account, Advanced. Scroll down to where it says "Last post..." near the bottom of the page. Go to the right end and click "reset". Then put the post ID of that last post in the box at the bottom, click update settings. Go back in and check to make sure it's both reset and kept the post ID number - when I did it, it didn't keep the post ID number the first time, so you may have to redo that. And then it starts from the next post after that, posting one at a time on the schedule you want.

    Hello,
Are there any news on a new 3.5 reposting engine to be out? The blog says March 25, 2014 but dont think it was released. Anybody has idea when? thanx.

It won't be soon. It will be released later this year. Current version is 3.3. Version 3.4 will be out in couple weeks and only after that 3.5.

We really need some time to make it right.

I acknowledge your statements and I'm extremely glad you guys are working on fixing this model. It took me a few weeks to get it downpacked exactly how I wanted it to work. With that said, why not wait until closer to the new release to turn this process off? I for one really count on this feature for advertising purposes and am a paying customer of some of your features. Is there another alternative that you would recommend until this feature is completely redone?

You really have a great plugin. Keep up the good work. Not seen anything that comes close to your plugin and if they do, they disappear after a while

Quick question, would it be possible in the new version to allow us to add text to repost titles (or body) specifically. For example i'd like to add "In case you missed it: %TITLE%" only for reposts.

Thanks for all your efforts, I love the plugin!

One feature I wish to see: a random post.

Until now, the plugin get the post in sequence ( 01,02,03 ....). I would like to see an option to repost random posts, but without repeat the same post twice.

After all posts had been reposted, the plugin will repost again, but at random.

    Sorry for my bad english.

Hi, as the year ends soon: When will 3.5 be released? I apriciate really your work, its a great Plugin and I would be willing to pay even more if it would work correctly. Actually the auto-reblogging was the reason I was willing to pay for it.
    Thanks.

Obviously development on this plugin has died. 3.5 didn't come in 2014 and it's now March of 2015 and still nothing. Removing it and looking for a new solution would be the best course of action at this point. Empty promises and not even and excuse made.
